Axiomyx Personal keeps original files in their selected locations and stores derived canonical objects, indexes and provenance inside the installed product's boundary. When you deliberately use an external AI connection, the requested evidence can leave that boundary for processing; local storage does not make an internet-connected workflow entirely local.

This separation is useful when you want durable file-backed memory without placing the full collection in a hosted memory service. You can choose a local folder, external drive, network location or cloud-synced folder that is mounted on the device, and you can change that evidence boundary over time.
